Samsung Warranty
|
Anybody had any joy with these cunts.
Fridge has packed up on side by side fridge freezer, just had over 2 years, has a 5 year warranty.
Samsung were very reluctant to send an engineer. But eventually arranged one through a third party
They were supposed to come yesterday, gave us a tracking email with a graphic of a van doing all it's stops.. Got to us then nothing.
The wife has called them this morning and they've said the engineer called her yesterday at 3.30pm..and she told him it was fixed now.
So our job is closed.. Googled reviews about them, nearly everyone saying the same, not turned up. Lied about phone calls.
I can only assume this is driven by Samsung as what would be in it for them and surely they would lose the contract
They've eventually agreed to come back tomorrow, no apology. Said they have no idea why the engineer would say that.
Yes I've tried wiping my knob on it.

I can't believe that in 2022 people are still falling for the old in-store extended warranty arse gravy.
Just fill in the pre-paid postcard that you get with the manufacturers documents and you get it extended for free without paying an extra bean.
Currys have been getting away with murder for decades

They are not the company they were 10 years ago and the quality of goods is getting poorer and so is the service. They cant compete with the cheap chinese stuff being sold. That said I had a Samsung phone fixed under warranty recently with no fuss. They use third party repair company. Van to the house, fixed in 15 mins. Sounds like the 3rd party repairers are crap for fridges.

My response to such "offers" has always been along the lines of "What? Do you expect it to break down after a year in my possession? Perhaps I should look elsewhere.".
The response generally indicates that I've gone "off script" at that point and the issue is quietly dropped.

Warranties are a total con. I bought a toaster from Argos the other week, cost £24.99, with a years guarantee. I was offered to extend that guarantee for five years for just £5.99 a month.

Repairing stuff is not easy these days. I seem to always get told it will be cheaper to buy a new one "mate". Fucks me off.

What is the name of the 3rd party company? I know a fair bit about Samsung, I work with them. They'd be horrified to know this, trust me.

Mostly if you need anything repaired, it's best to try to find an independent repairer locally who can actually think the problem through, and perhaps try their own solution. Warranties are of very limited value.
Most of the people that are employed by big firms don't know much beyond replacing a few plug-in components.
I haven't heard one say 'computer says no' yet but it can't be long now.

They reckon they're coming back tomorrow.. Have another link with another little van.
I'm not hopeful they'll repair it even if they turn up, loads saying that Samsung won't have the part or won't authorise them to replace it..

Couple of possibilities.
Companies such as this tend not to rely on regular, repeat trade. If they did then it would be more of an issue. If there is a fairly constant stream of irregular punters that are constantly replaced by others, then they are less likely to be concerned with their reputation. A bit like shoddy builders. Helps a lot if the manufacturer refers customers to you. Instant credibility.
Having not worked in this area, I don't know to what extent parent manufacturers oversee and regulate what their 'service partner' does or doesn't do. I would suggest that this is likely to be in direct proportion to their ability to shift new kit. If it impacts on that, then they will sit up and take notice.
Lastly, some 'service' firms that do go under quickly reappear in another guise, just to repeat the same pattern again.
